Heaton Stannington held their End of Season Awards for 2024/25 over the course of Saturday 24th May at Grounsell Park, with recognition going to players and staff from all levels of the club, ranging from the juniors, right the way through to Stan A and the first team.

A special presentation was held for Ryan Bailey who is leaving the club after almost 11 years, responsible for some of the biggest moments in the club’s history and a true Stan legend.

Following the red card issued to Leighton Hopper in the 12th minute against Newton Aycliffe for Serious Foul Play, the Club immediately lodged an appeal for Wrongful Dismissal. Leighton was facing a 3 match ban.

We are pleased to share that our appeal has been successful and the red card & any associated suspension has been overturned.

Whilst we are pleased that the decision has been overturned, we remain disappointed that such a bad decision was made in such an important fixture, which had a major impact on the rest of the game.

We must now move on and focus on the final three fixtures of the season.

No further comment will be made.

JoJo Sutherland

Known for her charismatic stage presence and quick wit, Jojo is a favorite at The Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh and Glasgow, seamlessly alternating between delivering her signature sets and compering, bringing a unique energy to each role. Jojo’s “healthy neglect” approach to parenting forms the backbone of her material, blending everyday grievances with motherly advice that resonates with audiences. Lee Kyle

Lee Kyle, described by the BBC as a “top up-and-coming comedy performer,” has spent much of his life on a never-ending quest to avoid having a proper job. From being part of an all-male Spice Girls tribute act to spending a decade as a professional wrestler, Lee’s unconventional career path eventually led him to stand-up comedy. Managing the difficult trick of being both odd and relatable, Lee’s jokes veer between the clever and the silly, delivering more than their fair share of belly laughs.

The date of this fixture has been changed from Monday 3 March to Tuesday 11 March, in order to assist Newcastle United with accommodating a league cup fixture.

UNDER 16 ENTRY – IMPORTANT INFORMATION

For this fixture, we will continue to operate our policy of not charging for children under the age of 16.

However, due to the larger crowd expected we have made a decision on safety grounds to only permit Under 16s if they are accompanied by a paying adult. The paying adult takes responsibility for the behaviour of the Under 16s which enter the ground with them.

ALL Under 16s require their own advance ticket – these are available on our Ticketing website to add to your basket along with any Adult/Concession tickets needed. A maximum of 4 Under 16s can enter with each paying adult/concession.

Any Under 16s who attempt to enter the ground on match day without an adult will be rejected entry – there will be no exceptions to this rule for this fixture. Drums will not be permitted.

Seeta Wrightson

Seeta Wrightson, based in Leeds, is a Bradford-born comedian known for her sharp wit and engaging stories, Wrightson’s work often draws on her dual Asian and British heritage. From humble (AKA very skint) beginnings growing up in Bradford, Seeta has wandered through life wondering where exactly she fits and has had a hell of an adventure figuring it out. And it is a never-ending stream of ridiculousness that provides the fodder for her comedy.

Steffen Peddie

Fondly known as The Big Man of Northern Comedy, Steffen is famous for playing Big Keith in BBC2’s hit comedy sitcom Hebburn.

Returning to stand up after an eight year break as a Pro Wrestler has found Steffen a little older, wiser and bigger than before, but still ready to find the lighter side of any subject that an audience member can throw at him.

We are delighted to share that from the 2025/26 season we will be entering into a partnership with Pro:Direct Academy. This will see us launch Heaton Stannington Academy FC who will enter a number of national competitions.

The partnership will help to provide a stronger pathway between Heaton Stannington Juniors and our Senior teams and is an exciting evolution of the growth of the Club.

Heaton Stannington Academy FC will play from the Killingworth YPC facility where they receive both education and football experience.

An opening evening is planned to take place at Grounsell Park on Tuesday 3rd December – please stay tuned for more updates!
