Our four outstanding acts this time will be:

Noel James

An experienced, very original, comedian from Swansea, Wales, who has played – and often headlined – most comedy clubs in the UK. Noel is described as being, bizarre, surreal but most importantly extremely original, funny and dam right ridiculous. His act contains a lot of odd jokes with intelligent word play. His best one liners will leave you belly laughing; the worst would beat a box of Tom Smith Christmas crackers to its slow death. On TV Noel has appeared on Stand – Up Show, and alongside Frank Skinner on Packing Them In. Most recently James reached the semi –finals of Britain’s Got Talent 2018 with a very funny guitar routine, narrowly missing out in a place in the final.

Seeta Wrightson

Seeta Wrightson, based in Leeds, is a Bradford-born comedian known for her sharp wit and engaging stories, Wrightson’s work often draws on her dual Asian and British heritage. From humble (AKA very skint) beginnings growing up in Bradford, Seeta has wandered through life wondering where exactly she fits and has had a hell of an adventure figuring it out. And it is a never-ending stream of ridiculousness that provides the fodder for her comedy.

John Fothergill

This lively Geordie is a highly sought-after headline comic with his blend of cocky insults and slick banter.

John became a regular at Newcastle’s Comedy Café and in 1993, his first year as a comedian, he was lucky enough to appear with the likes of Jack Dee, Lee Evans and Jo Brand. He has also appeared on BBC1’s Never mind the Buzzcocks.

“Everything he says is funny. He looks like he was born onstage, under a follow spot, with a mic in his hand.”

– The Guardian
