Juniors Annual Golf Day

We are thrilled to celebrate yet another success for our Juniors section.

This past Saturday marked the second annual golf day for parents and coaches at the famous NUFC golf course.

Parents and coaches from the club united to participate in a Texas scramble game, swapping boots for clubs.

The winners for this year were:
Team: Team Robinson
Longest drive: Steven Chirnside
Closest to the pin: Phil Boyd

John Robinson, the juniors events manager, stated that the event highlights the “We are one big team” spirit throughout Heaton Stannington. Coaches and managers from various age groups unite for a wonderful day of golfing activities.

Chris Davison, the chairman of Juniors, stated that the event was a tremendous success, and it is something we will keep doing and expanding. This is yet another aspect of the incredible efforts our coaches and parents put in to make this club truly exceptional. A big thank you to John Robinson, our events manager, for his organisation, and to the coaches and parents for their support.

Next year’s event is scheduled to take place again the weekend prior to the start of the season.

International Youth Tournament 2025

This weekend, the combined forces of Heaton Stan Jrs U11 Whites & Blacks proudly flew the flag in the renowned 2025 International Youth Tournament.

From the first whistle, Stan showed grit, determination, and a united team spirit that would carry them beyond the group stages. With a series of strong performances, they surged through their fixtures and earned their place in the Bowl Plate final.

There, they faced off against American side Hoosier FC – and delivered a commanding 5-1 victory. It was a match that showcased the very best of Heaton Stan Jrs: sharp passing, tireless teamwork, and clinical finishing.

The performance left spectators in no doubt – this is a team with heart, talent, and a bright future.

We’re proud to announce that Heaton Stannington Juniors has been named as a Club of the Year Finalist at the Northumberland Football Association Grassroots Football Awards 2025.

Our Juniors team are named as Finalists alongside Whitley Bay Sporting Club and North Shields Juniors.

Speaking of the nomination, Neil Drummond, Club Director at Heaton Stannington FC, said,

“It’s an honour to be shortlisted for this award in only our second year. It’s testament to the hard work and dedication of all of the volunteers and the support of the directors at Heaton Stan”.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the Juniors set-up.

Heaton Stan Academy Recruitment

Calling all school leavers, we are recruiting for September for our Heaton Stannington Academy programme through Pro:Direct Academy Newcastle.

Our full-time education & football program offers a unique opportunity for those with a passion for sport aged 16-19. If you would like more information or to apply please email academy@heatonstan.co.uk or message our Academy manager Carl on 07988849996.

The pathway from Heaton Stan Juniors to the first team

This weekend, media officer Liam sat down with club director Neil Drummond and first team coach and academy manager Carl Chater to talk about Heaton Stannington Juniors, the pathway they have put in place to give budding young football stars the possibility of one day getting into the Heaton Stan first team. Later in the video, first team assistant manager Andy McBride stops by to talk about the exciting prospect of seeing more involvement from academy graduates in his squad.

Heaton Stan U18s Recruitment

Heaton Stan u18’s are looking to add to their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Like last season, we will again play in the competitive Durham FA Youth League, against top level clubs throughout the North East. We will also compete in the FA Youth Cup, which is a brilliant experience for all players.

A major focus of ours is centred around player development and as a result we have seen players promoted from this squad into our senior teams.

This means we now have opportunities to strengthen our Under 18s squad for the new season (date of birth between 1/9/07 to 31/8/09). So if you want to be part of a great club and join a fantastic squad playing at the highest level this is your chance.

Please direct all queries to Simon by email simoncoulson157@hotmail.co.uk with the players name, age on 1st September, current club(s) and position. Or feel free to contact Simon on 07599014720 to discuss further.

Announcement: The Home of Heaton Stan Juniors

We announced last season our plans to implement a Junior division at Heaton Stannington FC in the 2023/24 season. Since then, a lot of hard work has been going on behind the scenes to build solid foundations for this part of the Club.

We are now delighted to be able to announce that we have entered a partnership with charity Urban Green Newcastle which will see Heaton Stan Juniors based at the nearby Paddy Freeman’s Park facility!

Paddy Freeman’s Park is central to the High Heaton community and in very close proximity to Grounsell Park. It provides us with an amazing opportunity to bring Junior football to the area and the partnership with Urban Green will see investment in the facility as a Junior football hub for years to come. We are excited to have a shared vision with Urban Green to develop Paddy Freeman’s Park further including pitch improvements, facilities improvements and with community integration at the heart of all we do.

We are now working with Urban Green and various community groups to bring this vision to fruition and ensure we are ready to go for the coming season.

Please keep a look out for further Juniors updates via our website and social media channels, especially plans for Open Sessions in June.
