Club News: The Willow Sponsorship Deal

Heaton Stan and The Willow Chippy have agreed a long term sponsorship deal, which will see our ground renamed to ‘The Willow Park’ and our home shirt sponsored by our neighbours for the next 3 years.

The Willow Chippy have been home shirt sponsors for the last season but the new agreement will see the partnership developed further for a long term period.

Our home ground will be named ‘The Willow Park’ from 2025-26 season for the next three years and the local business will also remain on the front of the home shirt for that time.

Talking about securing the sponsorship with the Club, The Willow co-owner Andrew Little said

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be working so closely with all the great people at Heaton Stan! They have been hugely welcoming neighbours since we opened our doors in December 2023 and so it is of course with pleasure we can help with sponsorship such as this. We’re very excited to see what next season brings for the Stan!”
Director and Club Secretary, Scott Lyndon, shared the clubs excitement at signing the deal:

“The Willow have been fantastic neighbours and supporters of the Club since their arrival in the area. This deal shows that we want to develop a long term partnership which will benefit Heaton Stan, The Willow, our supporters and the community. To have their support for the next three years shows their commitment and we are very grateful for the support. We are all really excited as we look ahead to another season of entertaining football here at The Willow Park!”
The new home and away shirt designs will be launched soon and will be on sale to supporters shortly after.

The Willow have three shops in the area:
* The Willow – 4 Willow Grove, Wallsend NE28 6PN
* The Willow 2 – 77 Coutts Road, Walkergate NE6 4RA
* The Willow 3 – 166 Newton Road, High Heaton NE7 7HP

Alfie Livermore becomes the Stan’s second summer signing

Heaton Stannington are delighted to confirm the signing of attacker Alfie Livermore.

The 21-year-old joins the club after leaving West Allotment Celtic where he scored 13 goals last season. Alfie has also played for Newcastle Blue Star and Blyth Spartans in his young career so far.

Upon signing for the club, Alfie said:

“I’m buzzing to be joining the Stan. I’m looking forward to meeting the lads and getting started!”

Asked about his playing style, Alfie says:

“I’m a very attack minded player and like to get the ball at my feet and make things happen. I want to bring my form from last season straight into this and provide the team with plenty goals and assists.”

Manager Dean Nicholson says:

“I’m over the moon to secure Alfie. His pace and power have attracted us to him and he will bring goals to our side. We have beat a lot of sides to his signature which shows just how well he’s played over the last 12 months so I’m looking forward to seeing him in a Stan shirt.”

Carl Chater joins Heaton Stan as new First Team Coach

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Carl Chater as First Team Coach ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Carl is no stranger to the Stan, as he already heads up the Heaton Stan Academy side. He also spent last season with West Allotment Celtic in the Northern League, but now brings together his Senior and Academy experience under one roof at the Stan.

On his appointment, Carl said

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Heaton Stan. I have huge admiration for what Dean and Andy have achieved and the club has went from strength to strength. I can’t wait to get started.”

Manager Dean Nicholson also had to say:

“I’m delighted to get Carl in as coach. We have been chatting with Carl and the link with academy was a no brainer. He brings experience and a wealth of knowledge and someone I feel will really suit our dressing room which was the most important factor for me.”

We can also confirm that Jamie Tunstall has departed the Club and wish him the best for the future.

Dale has been a prolific goalscorer throughout his career. A spell at Consett returned 67 goals from 84 appearances, including a goal in their 2020 FA Vase Final defeat to Hebburn. Previous clubs also include Morpeth Town, Blyth Spartans and Newcastle Benfield.
