Heaton Stannington held their End of Season Awards for 2024/25 over the course of Saturday 24th May at Grounsell Park, with recognition going to players and staff from all levels of the club, ranging from the juniors, right the way through to Stan A and the first team.
Heaton Stannington are delighted to announce that Dale Pearson has agreed to sign for the club.
The striker made over 100 appearances for previous club Dunston, over 40 of which came in the last season where he scored 13 goals, including a hat-trick at league champions Cleethorpes Town. Dale scored 19 goals in the previous campaign.
Dale has been a prolific goalscorer throughout his career. A spell at Consett returned 67 goals from 84 appearances, including a goal in their 2020 FA Vase Final defeat to Hebburn. Previous clubs also include Morpeth Town, Blyth Spartans and Newcastle Benfield.
Dale Pearson said:
“I’m delighted to sign for the club. After speaking to Dean and Andy, it was a pretty easy decision. I know a lot of lads who are here, I consider them to be my mates. It felt like the right decision in this time in my career to come here.”
Heaton Stannington manager Dean Nicholson said:
“I’m naturally over the moon to bring a player in like Dale. He was our number 1 target and to sign him is brilliant and just what this team and club needs. Like the fans, I can’t wait to see him getting started.”
The Club are able to share news of players retained, in discussion and players departing the Club this summer.
We would like to place on record our gratitude to those players who depart for their contributions during their times with the Club and wish them all the best for their future endeavours.

Following the red card issued to Leighton Hopper in the 12th minute against Newton Aycliffe for Serious Foul Play, the Club immediately lodged an appeal for Wrongful Dismissal. Leighton was facing a 3 match ban.
We are pleased to share that our appeal has been successful and the red card & any associated suspension has been overturned.
Whilst we are pleased that the decision has been overturned, we remain disappointed that such a bad decision was made in such an important fixture, which had a major impact on the rest of the game.
We must now move on and focus on the final three fixtures of the season.
No further comment will be made.
We are delighted to confirm our next instalment of the popular Heaton Stan Comedy Night will take place on Thursday 10 April 2025 and tickets are now on sale!
Our four outstanding acts this time will be:
Phil Walker
Phil’s act has taken him to some weird & wonderful places, from a scout hut in Unst in the Shetland Isles to a porta-cabin on mount Alice in the Falkland Islands, basically he’ll go anywhere for a laugh! His great act, along with his warm personality & charm have made Phil one of the most sought-after entertainers around today.
“If you look in your local comedy club listings and ever see Phil Walker listed, get a ticket. One of the funniest acts out there.”
– Jason Manford.
JoJo Sutherland
Known for her charismatic stage presence and quick wit, Jojo is a favorite at The Stand Comedy Club in Edinburgh and Glasgow, seamlessly alternating between delivering her signature sets and compering, bringing a unique energy to each role. Jojo’s “healthy neglect” approach to parenting forms the backbone of her material, blending everyday grievances with motherly advice that resonates with audiences. As a mother of four, she draws from her rich personal experiences, including her memorable starring role in Channel 4’s award-winning series “Wife Swap.”

Lee Kyle
Lee Kyle, described by the BBC as a “top up-and-coming comedy performer,” has spent much of his life on a never-ending quest to avoid having a proper job. From being part of an all-male Spice Girls tribute act to spending a decade as a professional wrestler, Lee’s unconventional career path eventually led him to stand-up comedy. Managing the difficult trick of being both odd and relatable, Lee’s jokes veer between the clever and the silly, delivering more than their fair share of belly laughs.
“Quirky and original – the highlight of the night” – Giggle Beats
MC David Hadingham

Whether he’s poking fun at the quirks of human behaviour or sharing personal anecdotes, David Hadingham’s performances are a rollercoaster of laughter that leave audiences in stitches. His charismatic stage presence and impeccable timing have earned him a great reputation in the UK.
NOTE: Acts are subject to change – this sometimes happens for reasons outside of our control. We however promise to replace them with someone else who is canny.
The date of this fixture has been changed from Monday 3 March to Tuesday 11 March, in order to assist Newcastle United with accommodating a league cup fixture.

Gates Open: 6pm

We expect this fixture to generate significant interest and draw a very large crowd. We therefore will be prioritising advanced purchased tickets – this enables us to monitor the number of tickets sold but also will help to ensure we can get people into the ground in the quickest way possible & minimise queues. If you do not purchase an advance ticket, we cannot guarantee entry on the night
TICKET PRICES
Adults: £9
Concessions (Over 65s only): £6
Under 16s: £FREE – must be accompanied by a paying adult (see below)
Season tickets are not valid for this fixture.
UNDER 16 ENTRY – IMPORTANT INFORMATION
For this fixture, we will continue to operate our policy of not charging for children under the age of 16.
However, due to the larger crowd expected we have made a decision on safety grounds to only permit Under 16s if they are accompanied by a paying adult. The paying adult takes responsibility for the behaviour of the Under 16s which enter the ground with them.
ALL Under 16s require their own advance ticket – these are available on our Ticketing website to add to your basket along with any Adult/Concession tickets needed. A maximum of 4 Under 16s can enter with each paying adult/concession.
Any Under 16s who attempt to enter the ground on match day without an adult will be rejected entry – there will be no exceptions to this rule for this fixture. Drums will not be permitted.

Our scheduled fixture at home to Dunston on Saturday 8th February 2025 has now been moved to the Friday night, 7th February 2024, with a 19:45 kick off time. This gives the Stan Army a rare opportunity for Friday night football, which has been difficult to schedule in the NPL due to the geographical spread of our opponents.
We thank Dunston and the NPL for agreeing to the change!
We are delighted to confirm our next instalment of the popular Heaton Stan Comedy Night will take place on Thursday 13 February 2025 and tickets are now on sale!
This is a special edition – THE NO SHOW, SHOW! – sees us bring to Grounsell Park three comedians who have “no showed” in 2024 🙂
Our four outstanding acts this time will be:
Scott Gibson
The Big, Bald, Bearded Glaswegian. A naturally skilful and riveting raconteur, Gibson mixes a conversational style with his own unique brand of dark humour, gloriously bad language and shrewd observations.
“Irvine Welsh meets Billy Connolly”
The Evening Standard
Seeta Wrightson
Seeta Wrightson, based in Leeds, is a Bradford-born comedian known for her sharp wit and engaging stories, Wrightson’s work often draws on her dual Asian and British heritage. From humble (AKA very skint) beginnings growing up in Bradford, Seeta has wandered through life wondering where exactly she fits and has had a hell of an adventure figuring it out. And it is a never-ending stream of ridiculousness that provides the fodder for her comedy.
Steffen Peddie
Fondly known as The Big Man of Northern Comedy, Steffen is famous for playing Big Keith in BBC2’s hit comedy sitcom Hebburn.
Returning to stand up after an eight year break as a Pro Wrestler has found Steffen a little older, wiser and bigger than before, but still ready to find the lighter side of any subject that an audience member can throw at him.
